The eligibility criteria for candidates (Indian Nationals only) seeking admission through CLAT 2014 in Undergraduate Courses shall be as per the  following:

The candidate by 1st July 2014 must not have attained the age of:

(i)      Twenty (20) years in case of General/OBC/Persons with Disability (PWD) and Other category candidates, and

(ii)     Twenty Two (22) years in case of SC/ST category candidates

As regards minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination (i.e. 10 2), the candidates must have secured:

(i)      Forty five percent (45%) marks in case belongs to General/OBC/PWD and other category, and

(ii)     Forty Percent (40%) marks in case belongs to SC/ST category.

  1. The result of qualifying examination (i.e. 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the Course. No provisional admission shall be provided to those candidates who are not submitting the result of the qualifying examination (i.e. 10+2) at the time of admission.
Those appearing in qualifying examination in March/April 2014 are also eligible to apply. No provisional admission shall be provided to those candidates  who are not submitting the result of the qualifying examination at the time of admission/within the time-frame prescribed by the respective Universities/ Institutes.

In case of equal marks secured by candidates, the procedure to break the tie will be as per the following order:

(i) Higher marks in the section of legal aptitude in CLAT-2014

(ii) Higher age

(iii) Computerized draw of lots

The first Admission Notification of CLAT-2014 will be issued in the month of December, 2013.

From which date the online Application Form and Information Brochure can be accessed?

The Application Forms and Information Brochure will be accessible from 1st January 2014 (Wednesday).

What will be the duration between which the online Application From can be submitted?

Foreign Nationals need not take the CLAT-2014 for admission in various NLUs. They can contact/visit the website of respective NLUs of interest to know the procedure of admission.

A. The candidate interested in seeking admission in any of the NLUs under the NRI/NRI sponsored seat shall undertake the CLAT-2014. The admission will be based on the merit in CLAT-2014. The students are also simultaneously required to complete the formalities of the respective universities, if any, for which the candidate need to, contact the respective university of interest for further information.

The fees to be remitted while submitting the Application Form of CLAT-2014 shall be as per the following:

For General/OBC/PWD and other category candidates: 4000/-.

For SC/ST category candidates: 3500/-.

The candidates will have to bear the bank transaction costs for remitting the fee online while submitting the application form.

Previous Years Question Paper Booklets can be procured both online and offline by remitting a charge of  250/-. For procuring the Booklets via post from CLAT Office (at GNLU) an additional amount of 150/- shall be provided towards postal charges. The supply will start after the notification of CLAT-2014.
